The Ann Storck Center Art in Motion This exhibit is the process of the vibration relationship of sound and the application of colors to music. Does music have an affect on your brushstroke or the way you see the colors that are associated to music. During 6 months we have had one on one session with these 25 particular artists. In the making of these five abstract paintings, Blues, Classical, Jazz, Salsa and Pop/ Electronica the artists of the ASC Fine Arts Program have ventured into a collaborative effort, combining two incredible art forms. We are proud to share a truly unique experience titled “Art in Motion”. Once again our artists have proved that the ability to create is not bound by disability.In these sessions we have seen how when salsa music was playing the energy was high and the brushstrokes were sharp. The passion and heat of the color red is the reflection of this specific musical style. When classical was playing the brushstrokes were very dramatic and deep in motion also like the color green. The color blue brings about a sense of sadness and a feeling of deep emotion, while the black, white and magenta in jazz bring about a sense of movement and rhythm. The brightness of fluorescent pink and green in pop/electronic has a fast playful feel. There will also be a movie playing of the making of the project and a sample of each musical style that correlates with each particular painting. Along with these five interpretive acrylic paintings there are 26 permanent collection pieces. Permanent collection pieces are works of art considered so outstanding that they are purchased by the Ann Storck Center for their quality and appeal. These original pieces are never sold but reproduced in a variety of ways to generate income for the center’s programs and services.
