The organization employs dedicated and caring staff members, many of whom volunteer as personal advocates for the persons served. The staff includes a number of individuals who have been with the organization for more than twenty years. Their continued enthusiasm provides encouragement and support for others who have joined the staff more recently. Teamwork is abundant within this organization, which considers itself a family for all those involved with it.

Clean and attractive facilities provide a pleasant work environment for employees and comfortable training and living spaces for the persons served. The walls are tastefully decorated with examples of the artwork produced by persons served throughout the programs. Although space is very limited in the administrative offices and some of the program areas, the staff works well together and keeps its focus on providing for the needs of persons served first.

A comprehensive health and safety program is evident throughout the operations. Particularly noteworthy is the partnership developed with the community emergency services. A comprehensive disaster response exercise proved to be helpful not only in enhancing safety awareness, but also in building public relations with the community safety partners.

A rejuvenated board of directors concentrates its efforts on strategic planning to meet immediate challenges and position the organization for a fulfilling future. The decision to pursuer entrepreneurial projects for supplemental funding of program needs and to aggressively undertake a capital campaign for the facility development are vital elements to the future sustainability of the organization and its mission.

The organization demonstrates longstanding efforts in creating opportunities for self-advocacy. This engagement of persons served has created an environment for self-sufficiency.

The preschool program continues to flourish as it offers an opportunity for children with developmental delays to learn, play, and be loved within an integrated and safe environment. Typically, developing children are provided with excellent care and an equally compelling opportunity to learn within a culturally rich environment.

Community living services are provided in a variety of beautiful homes throughout Broward County in southeast Florida. The space is more than adequate to meet the desires of the persons served.
