Charlotte Mather-Taylor
began her role as the Ann Storck Center’s Executive Director/CEO on
December 20, 2010. The Ann Storck Center provides the highest quality
services to the developmentally disabled through its preschool,
intermediate care facilities, group homes, adult day care and expressive
arts program. It is a place where miracles occur.
She came to Ann Storck
Center from Broward Health, one of the top ten largest non profit,
public health systems in the nation, where she served as the Vice
President for Government, Community and Public Affairs. She has worked
for Broward Health for over 16 years.
A graduate of the
University of Florida, she earned her BA in Political Science, later
received her MBA from Nova Southeastern University, and graduated as a
2008 National Association of Public Hospitals Fellow.
Throughout the years she
has volunteered her time in many other organizations. She currently
serves on the Statewide Low Income Pool Council which is responsible for
reviewing and recommending the allocation of one billion dollars to
hospitals and health centers throughout Florida, the Broward County
Climate Change Task Force, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Board, Diabetes
Association Board, Women in Distress of Broward County Board of
Trustees, the University of Florida Broward County Board and the Broward
House Board of Directors.
Until recently she also
served on the Boards of March of Dimes, the Children’s Home Society, and
as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Coordinating Council.
She has earned the
reputation as an outstanding legislative advocate resulting from the
skills honed from her early days at the University of Florida as the
first female student body President. She uses those skills in her full
time work to advocate on the state and federal level on health care
policy. She previously served as the Junior League State Political
Affairs Committee analyst advocating for issues such as foster care and
booster seats and in fact previously received an honorary award from the
department of health as their “unofficial lobbyist”. She also previously
served as the co-chair of the Diabetes Walk for two years in a row,
Co-chair of the Diabetes Valor Awards in 2010 and chair of the Cystic
Fibrosis “Fort Lauderdale’s finest couples” and “Fort Lauderdale’s
Finest Singles Events”.
