Executive Director

 The Ann Storck Center, a Ft. Lauderdale, Florida based nonprofit organization is seeking a motivated, dynamic Executive Director to carry forward the excellent record of the Ann Storck Center’s services earned by this organization for the last 28 years.  The responsibilities of this position include overseeing the day to day operations of the organization, managing the staff of 350 employees, administering an annual budget in excess of $14,000,000, and taking a leadership role in the strategic and long-range planning of the organization.  The successful candidate must have the following qualifications: 1) at least 5 years in successful nonprofit leadership positions as an Executive Director, senior manager, or other significant leadership position; 2) an understanding of and sensitivity for the issues impacting upon Florida’s most vulnerable citizens, especially those with severe and profound developmental disabilities and those who are multiply disabled as well as medically fragile; 3) the proven ability to plan, execute and evaluate large projects and special events; 4) the proven ability in nonprofit fundraising from corporations, foundations, individuals, and special events; 5) experience in organizational planning; 6) excellent written and verbal skills and presentation skills; 7) demonstrated leadership abilities and a value system compatible with the mission of the Ann Storck Center.  Competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.  Send letters of interest, expected salary range, and a resume to Ann Storck Center Search Committee,1790 SW 43rd Way, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.  The closing date for accepting resumes is November 16, 2009.  The Ann Storck Center is an equal opportunity employer.

 

Behavior Analyst

Job description:

BCBA/BCaBA/FL-CBA to provide behavioral services in a residential setting. This is a full time salaried position. The Behavior Analyst would be responsible for all aspects of behavioral services including but not limited to assessment and Behavior Plan development, data collection, graphing, monitoring and training staff.

 

Qualifications: If hired, must be eligible to sit for the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Exam within 6 months of employment or hold ONE of the following certifications: BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST, BOARD CERTIFIED ASSISTANT BEHAVIOR ANALYST, or FLORIDA CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYIST.  For more information on acquiring BA Certifications please visit www.bacb.com

The Ann Storck Center is looking for caring people to assist adults and children with disabilities.  1st Shift – 2 years experience in same field as ASC.  2nd Shift – 1 year experience in same field as ASC. 1st Shift 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

and at our Ft. Lauderdale Facilities

1st Shift 6:00am to 2:30pm; 2nd Shift 2:00pm to 10:30pm

 

Qualifications for Job: 

 

High School Diploma or GED 

Lift 50 pounds repetitively, kneel, bend and squat

Successfully pass criminal background checks, drug screening, physical examination, reference check and drivers license check (if applicable)

 

Duties:

 

Daily Care: Assist with feeding, bathing changing and other areas of personal care.

Resident Interaction: Engage residents in social interactions & activities and other areas of activities.

Behavior: Follow individual behavior programs as provided by our Certified Behavior Analysts.

Training: Assisting our residents to be as independent as possible by teaching them daily life skills.

Housekeeping: Laundry, sweeping, mopping and other housekeeping tasks.

Miscellaneous: you may be requested to shop, cook meals and give residents medication.  You may also be required to work with residents with severe medical needs.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Weekend Working Requirements:

 

You will be required to work 3 weekends out of the month, on BOTH Saturdays & Sundays…no exceptions.

You will always get 2 days off every week but the days off will vary on weekdays for 3 of the 4 weeks in the month.

 

Orientation:

IF YOU ARE HIRED you will be REQUIRED TO ATTEND an orientation training.  Orientation days and hours are as follows:

 

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8:30am- 5:00pm

Wednesday is an in house observation day and you will be working either 1st or 2nd shift in the house that you were hired into.

You are paid for orientation.

 Hospital Supplement which pays $$$$ to you when you are in the hospital 72 Hours per year of Annual Leave for first 1-5 Years
3 Personal days and 9 paid Holidays per year 120 Hours per year of Annual Leave for 5-10 Years
Vacation Time-Annual Leave 192 Hours per year of Annual Leave after 10 years of employment

DIRECTIONS TO THE CENTER:

The Ann Storck Center is located North of I-595 just West of US-441 (State Rd. 7).

 

From South I-95

Exit to 595 west, then exit to US-441 north (state road 7),  past first light, go to SW 18th Street and turn left, then go to S.W. 43rd Way and turn right onto S.W. 43rd Way, Ann Storck Center on the east side of 43rd Way.

 

From North I-95

Exit on Davie Blvd Heading West, go down until US-441 North (State Rd. 7), make a left, then make a right on SW 18th St, then go ahead another couple of blocks and Turn Right at SW 43rd Way.
