The Professionals Group is
made up of successful professionals who are interested in giving back to
the community. The group’s mission is to raise awareness and funds
specifically for the Ann Storck Center and the over 300 children and
adults with developmental disabilities served by this organization. The
Professionals Group Planning Committee meets the 2nd Thursday
of the month at the Center to brainstorm ideas for future events that fall
into our four areas of interest.
-
Networking With A Cause
– Social networking events held after business hours to provide an opportunity
for networking with other professionals as well as to raise awareness for the
Center. Funds are raised through admission as well as through either a small
silent auction or raffle. We’re always looking for new venues to host these
events as well as exciting prizes for the auction/raffle as we plan these
events throughout the year.
-
Networking Breakfast
– A great way to start the day! The group recently branched out to
incorporate this type of networking event for busy professionals who enjoy the
opportunity for making business contacts before the business day begins.
We’re always looking for venues, donations of breakfast items, and guest
speakers to keep the breakfast exciting. We hope to have several successful
breakfasts each year.
-
Annual Expressive Arts
Performance –
Engage the community for a peak moment for individuals with disabilities.
Each year, the Center presents its Annual Expressive Arts Performance, an
event that highlights abilities despite disabilities as program participants
write the dialogue, music, and lyrics for the musical, as well as create the
stage sets. The event also showcases original artwork, showing creativity is
not bound by disability. The Center’s Professionals Group works to secure
sponsorships and sell ads for the playbill to ensure that the Annual
Performance continues to be a peak moment in the lives of those served by the
Ann Storck Center.
-
A.S.C. Service Project
– Make a true difference in your community! Help us ensure that the holiday
season is special for the children and adults of the Ann Storck Center by
securing items on the Wish List. Each program creates a list of much needed
items ranging from toys and electronics to art supplies and personal care
items.
The networking events organized
by the Center’s Professionals Group have proven to be successful in raising both
funds and awareness for the Center and its services and programs. These events
are a wonderful way to meet other professionals and highlight different
establishments in the community.

Networking with a Cause Event
The Ann Storck Center’s Professionals Group
held its first Networking Breakfast on April 15th at the
Pine Island branch of Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union. The
event featured a continental breakfast provided by Costo and Taste
Buds as well as former Miami Dolphin Bob Kuechenberg as the guest
speaker. Guests enjoyed the opportunity to exchange business cards,
learn about the Ann Storck Center, and also receive door prizes.
Eastern Financial has been a long-term supporter of the Ann Storck
Center and collaborates with the Professionals Group in sponsoring
the Center’s Expressive Arts Performance.
