3rd Shift Supervisor

Ann Storck Center has an opening for a full-time 3rd Shift Supervisor (11:00 pm-7:30 am). The 3rd Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing adequate supervision and training to direct care staff to ensure the residents receive high-quality care and services, in compliance with policies and procedures, behavioral and other programs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Ensures each house maintains a safe environment to minimize employee and resident accidents/injuries and unnecessary expenditures

Makes regular rounds through all three (3) houses each shift; troubleshoots and/or assists SRTCs/ASRTCs in resolving issues that occur during the shift; informs APM/SS or Program Manager of unusual incidents or problems which warrants intervention.

Oversees resident care, including feeding, bathing, providing grooming, and promoting self-care, encouraging residents to do as much for themselves as possible, ensuring that other staff on shift also provide informal training to residents to promote more independence during routines of daily living.

Ensures that the personal hygiene of the residents is maintained including, nail grooming, condition of ears, and oral hygiene.

Ensures that universal precautions are consistently followed by staff

Ensures that all direct reports are adequately prepared to perform their job duties through orientation, job training, APD, AHCA, OSHA mandatory training, annual in-services, ASC policies and procedures, and other training as necessary.

Ensures OJT is provided to all new hires; Ensures re-training is conducted as necessary.

Monitors scheduling/resolves issues to ensure at least minimum coverage at all times and assists with coordination of coverage for other shifts and/or hospital, as needed; Provides direct care during staff shortages and other times, as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Associates degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required

Knowledge of developmental and intellectual disabilities and two (2) years of experience providing direct care to intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals.

Previous experience in ICF homes and/or APD Group Homes is a plus!

1 year of supervisory experience and/or demonstrated leadership aptitude.

Must be able to effectively communicate in English (read, write, and speak) with employees, peers, supervisors, program participants, and external stakeholders.

Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).

Computer literate (Microsoft Office), preferred.

Ability to adapt quickly to unexpected changes, deadlines, or business demands and to make sound business judgments independently and under pressure.

Effective problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
-
Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task & prioritize work with minimal supervision.

Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive data.

Must be able to often perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, squatting, and physical exertion of upper and lower body muscles for the purposes of providing direct care and/or training staff.

Must be able to handle the stress of working with non-verbal, non-ambulatory residents who need assistance with most aspects of activities of daily living.
