Danielle McGill was having trouble getting around town. As a person with Cerebral Palsy, she was unable to drive herself to work or social outings, and she was tired of relying on others for help. She wanted independence. With that in mind, she teamed up with Ann Storck Center two years ago to create A Ride Away, a grant-funded pilot program under the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Terri Shermett joined Ann Storck Center in mid-May as the new CEO, and she’s exactly what you’d hope for in a leader. Imagine a little girl who dreams of being a football coach when she grows up. That’s Terri. And while she never did get that football coach position, she’s honed her leadership, team-building and inspirational skills in a variety of roles within the Broward County School System and beyond.
