Director of Nutrition Services
Duties include but are not limited to:
Nutrition Services Management – Provides oversight to the department to ensure the delivery of high-quality nutritional services to the individuals and program participants.
Ensures menus, snacks and supplements comply with the DRIs (Dietary Reference Intakes) set forth in the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Manual and are in accordance with physician-approved diet orders to meet the needs of the individuals.
Oversees the nutritional health of Group Home individuals.
Oversees implementation of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) according to State and Federal guidelines; Provides Preschool with menus that comply with NSLP ensuring reimbursement for free and reduced breakfasts and lunches
Creates and routinely evaluates the menu, food purchasing to keep within budgetary guidelines, and the purchasing and storing of Emergency Food and Supplies.
Nutritional Consultant – Provides nutritional guidance and direction on behalf of all individuals as needed.
Completes an Annual Nutrition Assessment and Nutrition Report for each individual through screening of medical records, mealtime observation, and consultation with other Circle of Support Team members;
Makes recommendations to the physician for diet changes and tube feeding modifications; Provides nutritional consultant summaries for each individual when needed.
Prepares monthly and quarterly nutrition reports for Group Home Individuals.
Works closely with the Occupational Therapist ensuring correct diet textures and up to date mealtime procedures.
Environmental, Health, and Safety – Ensures that kitchen and dining room facilities are maintained in compliance with expected standards for the safety and welfare of the residents and the employees.
Ensures ASC and OSHA rules and procedures are followed by nutritional services by: Monitoring the use of universal precautions with respect to hand washing, spill clean-up, etc.; Providing intervention, as needed.
Supervising safe food holding temperatures, proper food storage, and appropriate thawing methods as per HACCP Guidelines
Promptly addresses safety violations, safety hazards, unsafe practices, and other concerns.
Conducts routine kitchen and dining area inspections of ASC, Group Homes, ADT and PPC and provides in-serve training to nutrition services staff and house staff to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards that follow HACCP Guidelines and ASC’s best practices.
Documentation and Recordkeeping – Follows proper documentation and recordkeeping procedures in compliance with nursing standards and ASC policies and procedures.
Ensures the accuracy and timely submission of reports.
Prepares the nutritional management section for the Individual Resident Management Plan (IRMP).
Documents and addresses the nutritional concerns of each individual; Ensures mealtime procedures for each individual are updated as necessary.
Review minutes from monthly Nutrition Service departmental meetings.
Submits annual plans for Dietitian Services for each Group Home individual for Medicaid Waiver funding.
Prepares and submits monthly billing for Dietitian Services to Medicaid Waiver for Group Home Individuals.
Supervises: Nutrition Service Workers and Supervisors
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or related field
Registered or Licensed Dietitian, with current Florida Dietitian license, preferred
2 years of Kitchen & Supervisory experience.
Current Florida Motor Vehicle license, automobile insurance with good driving record; Reliable vehicle.

Salary: $48,000 - $50,000 / yr.
