Shoemaker Allen Baumgarten who is very well recognized for his craftmanship can now add can now add "mentor" to the list of his accomplishments! This renowned model maker, engineer, architect and designer has a big heart as well. Mr. Baumgarten is presently accepting applications for an apprentice to learn his craft. The exciting aspect for our community is that he is looking for the right candidate who has a disability. This opportunity is a once in a lifetime for this lucky person. Mr. Baumgarten has worked in the industry for over 50 years! He owned his shop in Pittsburgh for nearly 20 years and currently works with Neiman Marcus. His accomplishments, too many to name, include working with the Broadway smash hit, Kinky Boots!
This is an excellent opportunity the right candidate to build a fullfilling career and learn from a master. Mr. Baumgarten's wife recently toured Ann Storck Center to visit our own Micro-Enterprise efforts and social enterprise based on the Fine Arts Program.
