The inaugural Hearts of Gold Society mixer was generously hosted by Carol Moroco, Ann Storck Center First Vice Chair. Her home was filled with women eager to work together for a virtuous cause – to support Ann Storck Center (ASC) and impact positive social change in the South Florida community.
Denise Lettau, the Hearts of Gold Society Chairwoman, shared her vision for this new sisterhood of philanthropic leaders. She hopes this society can attract dynamic women of all ages with strong hearts, minds, and high standards. She said the society’s goals are not only to increase awareness of our mission, but to build its volunteer base, attract future leaders and create additional revenue to support Ann Storck Center through membership and fundraising events.
Charlotte Mather-Taylor, Ann Storck Center CEO, also spoke at the event, expressing the importance of women supporting one another and the impact that can be made as a result. As the first female student body president at the University of Florida, she said that women have come a long way, but there’s so much more that can be accomplished, especially when working together. Hearts of Gold Women’s Society is a space for women to be supported and empowered as they work together for a worthy cause.
Why is Ann Storck Center a worthy cause for these women? Mothers Bojana Lambrou, Arlene Lakin and Roz Perlmutter shared their separate experiences searching for the best services and environments for their special-needs children. Even in New York City, Bojana explained there were scarcely any daycare resources aimed at special needs infants. Roz said she searched the world for the best care for her daughter, and Ann Storck Center was the only place that provides the right services with an abundance of heart.
Founders and members of the Hearts of Gold Society want to nurture and grow that “heart” that family members, employees, visitors and community members feel here every day. It’s what ASC founder Ann Storck established on day one, and it’s what continues to differentiate ASC as a top tier provider for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
