Adult Day Training (ADT)

In full swing, ADT operates six hours a day, Monday through Friday, 240 days per year.

We serve individuals age 22+ who have mild to severe, multiple, developmental disabilities. Our daily participants include our own residential community and Broward County residents.

Our skilled staff work with individuals in a group ratio of 1:3 with emphasis on motor skills, vocational skills, sensory stimulation, recreation, and life skills.

Assistance with personal care needs such as nutrition, behavior, and nursing is provided. Individuals have access to and are encouraged to participate in Music and Art Therapy programs, and recreational/community outings.

Expressive Arts

With a full-time art instructor, ASC Residents have the opportunity to explore new art projects everyday in the Adult Day Training Center. Engaging with diverse mediums like sculpting, painting, and ceramics does more than spark creativity; it serves as a powerful therapeutic tool. Through dedicated guidance, our instructor helps residents enhance their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and sensory integration, proving that true self-expression has no boundaries.

Music Therapy

Every day, ASC residents engage in music through singing, playing instruments, learning rhythm, and so much more. It’s a highlight of the day, encouraging engagement, independence, and joy. Beyond the smiles, these sessions stimulate cognitive health, improve motor skills, and provide a calming space for expression. Reach out to come harmonize with us with some fun karaoke!

Sensory Programming

A sensory room is specifically designed to develop an individual's sense, usually through special lighting, music, and objects. It can be used as therapy for children and adults with limited communication skills. The ADT uses sensory assistive technology to create stimulating experiences for our individuals. The program aids in goal achievements outlined in Individualized Plans (IP). We aim to provide an environment in which the individuals will thrive through increased mental and physical stimulation.

Life Skills Training

Vocational training at Ann Storck Center involves focusing on life skills to assist the individuals served to be able to build independence. These are skills that will allow the individuals to better communicate their needs and desires and complete activities of daily living (ADLs).

The ASC therapy team works with each resident to explore the areas of independence which are most important to them to develop an individualized plan.
