Cook/Dietary Aide
The Cook/Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing all daily menus and special diet foods, and the preparation of pre-plated meals based on procedures. Prepares meals and snacks according to diet orders, pre-plated guidelines, and portion size requirements.
Duties may include but are not limited to:

Ensures that food quality is obtained and maintained.

Record food temperatures.

Prepares correct textures/consistencies.
-
Maintains the nutritional value of the food.

Assures palatable and tasty meals.

Cleans and sanitizes all working areas and kitchen equipment according to daily/weekend cleaning assignments.

Uses appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agents in a safe manner on all work surfaces and floors.

Follows all rules and regulations for food serving procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma/GED

Ability to read, write and speak in English

Must pass a Level II background check, a pre-employment physical and a drug screen and PPD

One to three-plus years’ experience in commercial kitchens, long term care, or intellectual disabilities organization

Must be able to effectively communicate in English (read, write, and speak) with employees, peers, supervisors, program participants, and others.

Ability to follow recipes and other instructions.

Must be detail-oriented and thorough with the ability to work quickly and efficiently and adapt quickly to unexpected changes.

Effective problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

ServSafe Certification preferred.
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: starting $14.00 per hour (increase after probationary period)
