The Medication Technician is primarily responsible for assisting the nursing department with providing the appropriate medication, care, and documentation for residents in our ICF facilities.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that proper sanitation of hands before administration of medication.

  • Prepare medications for one individual at a time to ensure no mix-up of medication occurs.

  • Administer oral, topical, nasal eye, and premeasured liquid medication to residents in a timely manner, correlating physicians’ orders, MARS, and medication labels.

  • Ensure to not distribute OTC medication without proper prescription or notation from the physician.

  • Liaise with nurses regarding any changes to an individual’s condition or amendments to their required medication.

  • Correct documentation following administration of medication.

  • Assist with patient day to day as needed.



  • High School diploma/GED required.

  • Completion of 6-hour Med-Tech course, with accredited certification.

  • 3 years of experience in the medical field, preferred.

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office and Google).

  • Experience working with families and/or children with developmental disabilities and some familiarity with educational rights, special education programs, and services.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills (verbal and written), and strong time management skills.

  • Bilingual, preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for supporting providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) in the provision of patient care, including but not limited to recording vital signs, discussing chief health concerns, performing testing, and administering injections; assists with procedures and documentation.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the residents/participants receive correct medications, correlating doctor’s orders, MAR, and Medication Card.

  • Ensures that medications are administered properly and in a timely manner, following doctor’s orders.

  • Monitors therapeutic positioning, Range of Motion, and Maladaptive Behaviors, with any needed interventions.

  • Counts and records narcotics and other controlled substances at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Ensures proper nursing documentation and record-keeping for optimum clinical intervention, including but not limited to: Accurately completing MAR entries; Accurately transcribing doctor’s orders and Individual Record Notes

  • Submits accurate and timely reports for nursing assessments, tracking forms, etc.

  • Observes and records the therapeutic effect of drugs and report unusual responses to the doctor.


  • Associates degree in Nursing

  • Current and Active State of Florida License as an LPN

  • One year of experience is preferred.

  • Experience of working in a Group Home or ICF setting is a plus!

  • Must pass Level II Background, Drug screening, PPD, and Physical

The Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing health management and medication administration, environmental health and safety, documentation and recordkeeping, monitoring and quality assurance, training and development, supervision, and fiscal aspects of the Nursing Department. The Director of Nursing oversees the delivery of nursing services for residents and program participants in ASC’s intermediate care facilities, group homes, ADT, and School.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality nursing care in compliance with established health management and pharmacology procedures.

  • Ensures that the facilities are maintained in compliance with expected standards for the safety and welfare of the residents.

  • Provides oversight and direction to nursing staff under ASC’s policies and procedures and in compliance with federal, state, and local employment law.

  • Follows proper documentation and recordkeeping procedures in compliance with nursing standards and ASC policies and procedures.

  • Facilitates the sharing of relevant information between all disciplines through informal communication, participation in meetings and documentation with the best interests of the individuals in mind.

  • Monitors the delivery of nursing services by conducting internal audits, participating in external surveys, reviewing documentation, reports and records, etc. for consistent quality and compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Ensures job training and on-going healthcare-related education is provided to nursing and direct care staff.



  • Current Nursing License (RN) from the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulations, APRN preferred.

  • At least 5 years of nursing experience with a variety of individuals and ages, more experience preferred.

  • Two-three years of supervisory experience.

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

  • Able to lift 50 pounds safely and appropriately utilizing standard orientation techniques.

  • Must have a BSN, Masters preferred.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

  • Must pass a background and drug screening, PPD & Physical.
