Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for supporting providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) in the provision of patient care, including but not limited to recording vital signs, discussing chief health concerns, performing testing, and administering injections; assists with procedures and documentation.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the residents/participants receive correct medications, correlating doctor’s orders, MAR, and Medication Card.

  • Ensures that medications are administered properly and in a timely manner, following doctor’s orders.

  • Monitors therapeutic positioning, Range of Motion, and Maladaptive Behaviors, with any needed interventions.

  • Counts and records narcotics and other controlled substances at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Ensures proper nursing documentation and record-keeping for optimum clinical intervention, including but not limited to: Accurately completing MAR entries; Accurately transcribing doctor’s orders and Individual Record Notes

  • Submits accurate and timely reports for nursing assessments, tracking forms, etc.

  • Observe and record the therapeutic effect of drugs and report unusual responses to the doctor.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree in Nursing

  • Current and Active State of Florida License as an LPN

  • One year of experience is preferred.

  • Experience of working in a Group Home or ICF setting is a plus!

  • Must pass Level II Background, Drug screening, PPD, and Physical

Salary: $25.00/ hr.

Location: Fort Lauderdale & Pembroke Pines

The Registered Nurse Supervisor is responsible for supervising LPNs and providing hands-on nursing services to ensure the health needs of all individuals served are identified and met. The Registered Nurse will support the physicians in the implementation of medical services. This position is also responsible to help ensure compliance with regulating governing agencies.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible to help ensure compliance with regulating governing agencies.

  • Assists Nursing Management to optimize the health status of all individuals by direct assessment, record review, & LPN supervision.

  • Supervises the implementation and monitoring of nursing services to assure compliance with governing regulations.

  • Ensures the residents/participants receive correct medications,  adhering to the 6 rights of medication administration.

  • Monthly Nursing Unit and equipment audit.

  • Must be flexible with scheduling to ensure individual health needs are met and to keep overtime to a minimum (staff coverage, hospitalizations, consultant visits, etc.).


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree in Nursing, BSN preferred

  • Two years of supervisory experience.

  • Current Nursing License (RN) from the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulations.

  • One year of experience is preferred.

  • Experience of working in a Group Home or ICF setting is a plus!

DIRECTOR OF NURSING

The Director of Nursing oversees the delivery of nursing services for residents and program participants in ASC’s intermediate care facilities, group homes, ADT, and School.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality nursing care in compliance with established health management and pharmacology procedures.

  • Ensures ASC and OSHA rules and procedures are followed in the performance of duties

  • Coordinating support for the physician in the implementation of medical services; Assisting in determining medically at-risk or complex individuals; Instituting tracking mechanisms.

  • Coordinating the implementation of medical consultant recommendations and attending physicians’ orders to achieve an integrated Active Treatment Plan for all residents.

  • Ensures that the facilities are maintained in compliance with expected standards for the safety and welfare of the residents.

  • Provides oversight and direction to nursing staff under ASC’s policies and procedures and in compliance with federal, state, and local employment law.

  • Monitors the delivery of nursing services by conducting internal audits, participating in external surveys, reviewing documentation, reports, and records, etc. for consistent quality and compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Master's preferred

  • Current Nursing License (RN) from the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulations, APRN preferred

  • At least 5 years of nursing experience, with developmental disabilities population preferred.

  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English (read, write and speak) with employees, peers, supervisors, program participants, and external stakeholders.

  • Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and email.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to unexpected changes, deadlines, or business demands and to make sound business judgments independently and under pressure.

  • Effective problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task & prioritize work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive data.

  • Must be able to occasionally perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, squatting, and physical exertion of upper and lower body muscles for the purposes of providing services to individuals.

  • Must be able to handle the stress of working with non-verbal, non-ambulatory residents who need assistance with most aspects of activities of daily living.
