Supported Training & Employment Program (S.T.E.P)

Funded by the Children Service's Council, The Supported Training & Employment Program (STEP) provides meaningful summer internship opportunities for teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through structured, supported job experiences, participants gain essential life and work skills — while local employers benefit
from a deeper engagement with their community and a more inclusive
workplace culture.

How It Works

Partnered with local Broward County High Schools, ASC works with teens and young adults working on career exploration, job readiness training, paid summer internships, and community integration activities.

Summer Internships

Interns work in groups of 4, each supported by one dedicated Job Coach from
Ann Storck Center. Job Coaches assist with onboarding, task completion, and workplace
adaptation to ensure a smooth and productive experience. Interns are matched to roles that align with their skills, interests, and business needs.
